Gunite Versus A Drop-In Hot Tub

An acrylic hot tub is cheaper and faster. A gunite spa is permanent, fully custom, and integrates with your pool and decking so it looks like part of the house rather than an appliance in the yard. If you want a spa that adds value to the property, gunite is the answer.

Spa Remodeling

If your spa has stopped being somewhere you want to sit, it's usually a fixable problem.

- Interior Resurfacing Rough plaster, staining and discoloration all come from a finish at the end of its life. New plaster, quartz or pebble makes it feel new again.

- New Tile Waterline tile and raised wall tile carry most of the visual weight in a spa. Updating it changes the whole look.

- Jet Upgrades Old jets clog, weaken and go out of production. New jets and better placement change how the spa actually feels to sit in.

- Equipment and Automation New heaters, pumps, blowers and controls. Modern equipment heats faster and costs less to run, and app control means the spa is at temperature when you get home instead of an hour later.

Spas fail in a handful of predictable ways, and most of them are cheaper to fix than people expect.

Leaks Losing water fast usually means plumbing, a jet fitting, or a crack. We find it rather than guessing.

Weak Or Dead Jets Air lock, clogged lines, a failing pump or worn jet internals. Each one has a different fix and the wrong one wastes your money.

A standalone spa usually runs three to six weeks. Attached spas get built alongside the pool or remodel. Most spa remodels run one to three weeks.

Q: Can you add a spa to a pool you didn't build?

Yes.

Q: How much does it cost to run?

Heating cost depends on size, heater type and how often you use it. A cover makes a large difference and we'll spec one.

Q: Is my spa leaking or just evaporating?

Spas evaporate fast when uncovered and heated. Cover it for 24 hours and see if the loss stops. If not, call us.

Q: Do you service acrylic hot tubs?

Our work is on gunite spas. Call us and we'll tell you honestly if it's something we handle.

Q: Should I repair or remodel?

If several things are failing at once and the finish is worn, a remodel usually costs less than repairing everything piecemeal. We'll tell you which side of that line you're on.
